Winter In Our Classroom / Feels Like Spring Outside

Our first week of January is always the time we begin discussing Winter Weather.  We have read many books, made books, written in our journals, and written winter words on our individual dry erase boards.  We have discussed what plants are like and what different animals do in winter.  And of course, we have talked about how people dress in winter.  One of my favorite books about winter clothing is this book.

After reading the book we made these fun banners matching the pictures with the words.

Look at these adorable snowmen the children made.  We made these today after reading the original story of Frosty The Snowman.

The children created these wonderful winter scenes to be displayed on the bulletin board in the hall outside our room.

These beautiful winter scenes were made by painting a piece of watercolor paper with blue and purple watercolor paint.  After drying the children used oil pastels for the drawings.  Love 'em!!!!
